The aim of the programme is raising technical staff capable of calculating and executing landscape projects, facilitating the communication between the landscape architect, the customer and the work force. The candidate landscape technicians also receive comprehensive knowledge on plant species, cultivation and design which enables them to work on landscape projects as well as at plant nurseries and greenhouses. Students receive both theoretical and practical education throughout the two year study period. The subjects taught cover ornamental and landscape plants, plant propagation, landscape materials, landscape art, drawing and modelling, construction and project costs.
Applicable subjects are predominantly taught in the greenhouses and the open fields of the school as well as in the drawing and modelling studio and the computer laboratory on the premises. Technical excursions are also taken to landscape fairs and plant nurseries. And also business professionals are invited to give sessions.
The graduates can work at private enterprises such as the offices or construction sites of landscape architecture companies, ornamental plant greenhouses and nurseries, seed and fertilizer firms, landscape equipment stores, and also the related state departments of the country as technical staff.
At the end of the two year programme, students who accomplish the required higher education exam may continue their studies in horticulture or landscape architecture departments.
